The multiple award-winning chairman of Somolu local government, Hon. AbdulHamed Salawu ‘Dullar’ has assured the civil servants working under his administration that there will be an improved welfare package that will bring out the best in them through improved revenue generation for the third tier of the government.
Hon. AbdulHamed Salawu Dullar made this known while speaking to Somolu News recently in his office where he said nothing will come short of his promises made to ensure that things are put in their proper places which will ultimately bring about considerable changes in the system.
He adds, “Concerted effort is ongoing to improve the local government’s financial performance through its revenue-generating departments”.
He noted that the need to embark on an aggressive revenue drive was necessitated by the dwindling oil revenue and Federal Government’s diversification efforts.
According to him, efforts will also be made to block leakages in revenue collection towards boosting economic stability and growth.
He disclosed that the council will procure additional vehicles and repair breakdown ones to enhance operational efficiency and would improve the welfare package of its staff to boost their morale and productivity.
Hon. AbdulHamed Salawu said that the revenue department had evolved strategies to achieve its projected revenue drive toward assisting the government meets its financial obligations.
