We try our best but our best was not enough-Somolu Ward C coach, Okeke

The coach of Somolu Ward C Ijebutedo, coach Henry Okeke has hinted that he has learnt his lesson from the Orekoya Alliance Tournament (OAT) after his team was ousted 3-0 by a star-studded team from Bariga Ward H.

According to Coach Henry who spoke with Somolu Newspaper correspondent recently, disclosed that the players’ failure to play to instructions made it difficult for the team to get the needed result. The players didn’t play as a team but preferred to play the individual game solely because they want to be discovered and got their hands burnt in the process.

“Should they have played to instructions, it would have been a different story entirely. Our defense was a bit poor but all the same, we shall work harder next time and ensure we go beyond quarterfinals.”

Somolu Ward C defeated Bariga Ward C 6-1 in the game’s preliminary and made its way into the quarterfinals but failed to go beyond the stage as the team were walloped 3-0 by Bariga Ward H thereby making it easier for Bariga Ward H strolling into the semifinal of the tournament.

Coach Henry Okeke, however, applauded the organizer, Hon. Biodun Orekoya for the good initiative to take the youth off the street and urged him to keep the project on track.
