Somolu residents applaud Abdul-Hameed Salawudeen ‘Dullar’ for desilting the canals and drainages ahead of the raining season

The people of Somolu can now heave a sigh of relief especially those who live close to canals as the chairman of Somolu local government, Hon. Abdul-Hameed Salawudeen ‘Dullar’ recently ensured the canal and drainages are cleared ahead of the raining season so as to avert flooding.

Somolunews reporters recently went round to check and realized that the coast is clear with water flowing freely without any cause for alarm when it rain.

Speaking with one of the residents who stay around the area described the development as a right move at the right time without having to wait for the rain to cause havoc before doing the needful.

“Honestly, I’m indeed happy with the timely intervention of the chairman Somolu local government, Hon. Dullar’ for all his efforts to ensure the people of Somolu get the needed attention when the need be and now he has done the needful by clearing the drainages and canals, it’s such a laudable step”. he noted

As part of his contribution, he warned the members of the society to shun unholy act of dumping refuse into the canals which are capable of blocking the passage of water and thereafter cause flooding.

In the time past, the canal and drainages are nothing but eyesores that gives the residents heartaches anytime it rains with the area being taken over by flood.

It’s a known fact that the residents of Somolu will now enjoy the flood-free raining season, courtesy, Hon. Dullar, Mr Imototo.
