One of Africa’s finest Fintech wizards and the CEO of Platnova, Benjamin Oyemonlan was reported to have lost his father to the cold hand of death a few months ago in Lagos.
The bereaved, smart, and ever-jovial ICT guru was said to have travelled out of the country alongside his wife only to be told that his beloved father had passed away to the great the beyond.
The sad news jolted him and his siblings who have been devastated over the sad incident since the announcement of their father’s death.
As a mark of honour, family, friends, and neighbours have been thronging the Oredola resident of the former CDA chairman in the Bariga area of the state to commiserate with family over the death of their breadwinner, Mr. Billy Oyemonlan who died on 30 of April 2024 at the age of 61.
Reacting to his death, one of his former neighbours, Hon. Mrs. Maryam Owolabi-Bada described the sudden death of Mr. Billy as a devastating blow not only to his family but to the entire Oredola residents and business associates noting that he was such a noble community leader and down-to-earth individual to be with.
She, however, prayed to God to grant him eternal rest and give the family the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
Similarly, Mr. Ayoade Richard described him as a lovely, trustworthy, easygoing, cheerful, and God-fearing individual who always encourages young individuals to remain focused saying that Mr. Billy’s death was a rude shock to him.
“Mr. Billy is a family friend and respected community leader whose contributions as a CDA chairman will never be forgotten in a hurry. However, we cannot query God’s action because He’s the creator and He gives and taketh at will. It’s my prayer to Heavenly Father to grant him eternal rest”.
In the same vein, a neighbour, Mr. Uche who stays a stone’s throw from his building said Mr. Billy’s death was nothing but a rude shock and irreparable loss to his family and entire Oredola residents.
“Mr. Billy is a lovely brother figure whose encouragement has been wonderful over the years. He’s a dedicated and trustworthy community leader whose leadership record is second to none. His death came as a rude shock to me and my family and no doubt about the fact that we’re going to miss him dearly”.
Meanwhile, according to the burial announcement made by his family, the remains of the former CDA chairman of the Oredola Residents Association will be laid to rest on the 16th of August, 2024 in his hometown in Uromi, Edo State, Nigeria.
He is survived by his wife, children, brothers, and sisters.
