In a historic show of unity and collaboration, the Executive Chairman of Somolu local government, Hon. AbdulHammed Salawu ‘Dullar’, alongside Hon. Yomi Osunkoya; the Council Leader of Somolu Legislative Arms, Somolu Councillors, joined forces to host council leaders representing all 57 Local Governments and Local Council Development Areas (LG & LCDA) across Lagos State.
This significant event unfolded recently at the prestigious NUT Hall in Agunbiade, Somolu, signaling a substantial stride towards fortifying grassroots governance in Somolu, Lagos State, and Nigeria at large.
The gathering underscored the pivotal role of intercouncil cooperation and the unwavering commitment of these leaders to enhance the well-being of their local communities.
Meanwhile, Hon. Alimi Nurudeen, Council Leader of Igbogbo-Bayeku and Chairman of the Lagos State Councilors Forum conveyed heartfelt gratitude to Hon. Yomi Osunkoya for his warm reception. This appreciation comes as council leaders convene for crucial deliberations on bylaws and seminars noting that Hon. Osunkoya’s hospitable demeanor sets a positive ambiance for the discussions, highlighting the significance of solidarity and cooperation in local governance throughout Lagos State.
Notably, the event saw the participation of Hon. Barakat Odunuga-Bakare, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Housing, and Hon. Seyi Lawal, a Member of the Lagos House of Assembly representing Ikeja Constituency 1, who joined their former colleagues to address key issues of importance.
