Ashimi Launches PBAT FEEDS Initiative to Boost Nutrition, Learning in Somolu Schools

The Executive Chairman of Somolu Local Government, Hon. Lateef Ashimi, has launched the PBAT FEEDS “Adopt a School, Snacks for Thought” initiative aimed at strengthening nutritional and educational outcomes among schoolchildren in the council area.

The programme was officially unveiled on Tuesday during a ceremony attended by the National Programme Manager of the National Home-Grown School Feeding Programme, Dr. Princess Aderemi F. Adebowale, who was represented by Mrs. Taiwo Adetoyi, alongside other government officials and stakeholders.

The initiative, tagged “Adopt a School for Snacks for Thought – PBAT FEEDS,” is designed to improve pupils’ access to nutritious snacks while creating an enabling environment for better learning and academic performance in schools across Somolu.

Speaking at the event, Hon. Ashimi reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to improving the welfare of schoolchildren through programmes that support quality education and proper nutrition. He noted that investing in the health and education of children remains a critical step towards building a more productive and prosperous society.

Representatives of the National Home-Grown School Feeding Programme also commended the Somolu Local Government for embracing the initiative, describing it as a strategic intervention that complements existing efforts to enhance child nutrition and school attendance.

The launch marks another milestone in Somolu’s drive to improve educational standards and the well-being of pupils through collaborative partnerships with relevant government agencies and stakeholders.
