Demonstrating his consistent culture of compassion and people-oriented governance, the Executive Chairman of Somolu Local Government, Hon. Lateef Ashimi, on Sunday 1st, February 2026, distributed food packages to residents across the local government area, with special consideration for the elderly.
To ensure transparency and effective grassroots coverage, the distribution was decentralised across all wards. In Akoka-Igbari (Ward G), Rt. Hon. Oyeyiola Tunde James coordinated the exercise with the support of ward leaders, zone coordinators, and other stakeholders. Together, we successfully distributed the food packages across the four zones of Akoka-Igbari.
The exercise benefited party faithful, community residents, and other vulnerable beneficiaries, reflecting an inclusive approach that prioritises care, unity, and social responsibility.
At the conclusion of the exercise, beneficiaries expressed profound appreciation to the Chairman and offered heartfelt prayers for the continuation of his good works, sound health, wisdom, and sustained success in steering the affairs of Somolu Local Government, describing the gesture as timely, impactful, and a clear reflection of responsive leadership committed to the welfare of the people.
