Abimbola CDA chairman, residents eulogise Somolu council chief

The Chairman of Abimbola Community Development Association (CDA), Mr Abdulrahman Lukman, alongside residents of the community, has commended the Executive Chairman of Somolu Local Government, Hon. Lateef Ashimi, for what they described as “leadership per excellence” demonstrated by his administration.

Speaking with Somolu News on Friday, Mr Lukman praised the council boss for his people-oriented governance style, noting that the chairman’s consistent engagement with grassroots communities has translated into visible development and renewed confidence in local governance.

According to him, the administration’s approach to inclusive leadership, infrastructural renewal, and responsiveness to community needs has set a commendable standard within the local government.

He added that residents of the Abimbola community have directly benefited from the council’s interventions, which, he said, reflect a deep understanding of grassroots priorities.

Mr. Lukman further remarked that the achievements recorded under Hon. Ashimi did not come as a surprise, attributing the progress to the foundation of continuity laid by his predecessor, AbdulHamed Salawu, ‘Dullar’.

He explained that the seamless transition and sustained policies between administrations have ensured stability and steady development across the local council.

“The current chairman took a cue from the vision and groundwork of his predecessor and has improved on it. This continuity is what Somolu needs to keep moving forward”. The CDA chairman stated.

Residents who spoke separately echoed similar sentiments, applauding the council leadership for its accessibility, transparency, and commitment to community welfare. They urged the chairman to sustain the tempo and continue prioritising initiatives that uplift neighbourhoods and improve living standards.

The commendation from Abimbola CDA adds to growing public endorsements of Hon. Ashimi’s administration, underscoring the impact of effective local leadership and collaborative governance in Somolu Local Government Area.
