Somolu, Lagos – The Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission (LASIEC), led by the Chairman; Hon. Justice Bola Ighile (Rtd.), and officials of the commission on Monday, March 10, 2025, visited Somolu Local Government to engage stakeholders in a sensitization drive ahead of the forthcoming local government elections.

The visit, according to the chairman, was aimed at educating elected officials, political aspirants, and other key players in the electoral process on the commission’s guidelines, the importance of free and fair elections, and the need for peaceful political participation.

Addressing the gathering, Hon. Ighile emphasized the commission’s commitment to conducting a credible and transparent electoral process. She urged all political parties and their candidates to adhere strictly to electoral rules and avoid any form of malpractice that could undermine the integrity of the election.

She further encouraged the eligible voters who have lost their cards and those who have not gotten their voters card to do so by visiting the INEC portal and register as appropriate.

Hon. Dullar expressed appreciation for the sensitization exercise, acknowledging its significance in promoting awareness and ensuring compliance with electoral guidelines while he also pledged to support LASIEC’s efforts in fostering a credible and peaceful electoral environment in Somolu.

As the election day draws closer, LASIEC reaffirms its readiness to deliver a well-organized and transparent process, urging all eligible voters to participate actively and responsibly.
