Residents, motorists decry the deplorable condition of Imere/Post Office road, beg govt for rapid intervention

Residents and motorists in Imere, Ago-Iwoye in the Ijebu-North area of Ogun state have expressed their dissatisfaction over the deplorable condition of Imere/Post office/Ibipe road noting that the road was fast becoming dangerous for the residents and other road users daily, Somolu News reports.

Speaking to our correspondent, one of the residents who craved anonymity said the Imere/Post Office/Ibipe road remains one major road that not only links other towns and cities but serves as an economic viability road network of the community.

“This is a major link road that must not be overlooked because this is the same road that links towns and cities and don’t forget its economic impact on the community”.

“We’re making a passionate appeal to the right authority to please do the needful and rehabilitate the road in no time to avert road mishaps and other hazards that might cause misfortune for the residents and motorists”.

In the same vein, Mr. Ajiboye Lukman, a motorist who plies the road on a regular period described the deplorable condition of the road as disheartening which he said has been causing untold hardship on the people, especially the motorists whose vehicles often get broken down as a result of potholes on the road.

“Imere/Post office/Ibipe road is a major road and the route that I ply daily going from Sagamu to Ijebu-Igbo and it’s not possible for us to go through Ijebu-Ode which is quite odd. This is the easiest way to and from and when you look at the negative effect of the potholes on the vehicle, it’s mind-bugging”.

“We cannot but seek government rapid intervention in getting the road fixed as soon as possible to make the road motorable and secure for residents and other road users.

The 17.5 Klm Imere/Post Office/Ibipe Road is the same road that stretches from Ijesha Road to Oru and Ijebu-Igbo and also connects other towns, cities, and villages that surround the Ago-Iwoye community.

Segun Odunnuga Kaka during his speech at the Oru-Ijebu Ojude Oba festival has reiterated his commitment towards rehabilitating, and dualization of the rural roads and creating new ones for easy entry and exit of goods and services.
