The All Progressive Congress (APC) candidate for the Lagos State House of Assembly 2023 general election, Somolu Constituency I, Hon. Biodun Orekoya felicitated with Alhaji Abdul-Ganiyu Afolayan Olorunjeda (Omo Ayeni1) who was officially installed on Wednesday 5th October 2022 at Somolu Central Mosque which heralded his being turbaned and presented on Saturday 4th February 2023 as the 3rd substantive Imam of Oluwalogbon Mosque.
According to the former Executive Secretary of Somolu local government who described the newly installed Imam as a spiritually humble personality and respected scholar who has a vast knowledge of Islamic doctrine and good leadership traits that earned him the revered position.
“No doubt about the fact that the Committee has done a yeoman’s job to have chosen a humble personality like Alhaji Afolayan whose good character and leadership qualities paved way for his emergence as the new Imam of Oluwalogbon Mosque.
“On behalf of my family, I wholeheartedly felicitate with Alhaji Abdul-Ganiyu Afolayan Olorunjeda and the entire Oluwalogbon Muslim community on the occasion of the official installation, turbaning and presentation of the newly installed Imam. May Almighty Allah grant him the knowledge, understanding, and sound health to be able to serve the congregation and the entire Oluwalogbon Muslim community”.
Hon. Orekoya in his closing remarks, however, urged the Oluwalogbon Muslim community to give him all the necessary support needed when and where necessary to be able to discharge his duty as expected.
