The community of Somolu will come alive as players and sports-loving fans are gearing up for the 1st edition of Hon. Ademorin Kuye 5-Aside football Inter-Ward unity cup billed to commence from 10th-19th of November 2022 at the UNA Primary and CMS football pitch, Bariga, Lagos respectively.

Speaking to Somolu News correspondent, the Principal coordinator of the event, Hon. Tosin Odubanjo hinted that the top-notch sporting event will not only be used to harness football talents that abound in the community but also be used as a catalyst to foster unity amongst the youth in the community.

He added, “The purpose of the sporting event is essentially to discover football talents and foster unity amongst the youths which will go a long way in reducing social vices in the community and in addition, it’s going to be an annual event with the hope and belief that it will live up to its billing.” Hon. Odubanjo stated.

In the same vein, a sports Management scribe and the coordinator of the 5-Aside football tourney, Mr. Abiodun Abdul described the 5-Aside tournament as a welcome development and poured encomium on the organizer for taking such a huge step to bring the youth together in unison through sports.

“Honestly speaking, aside from harnessing the football talents, the sporting event will further bring about peace and harmony among the youth in the community and this will remain a pride for us as a people and in the community which we see as a welcome development. He averred.

Meanwhile, the sporting event is powered by the Somolu Supervisory Councillor on ICT in support of Somolu Federal House of Representatives candidate, Hon. Aliu Ademorin Kuye in the coming election which’ll parade football players from the 16 wards in the Somolu Federal community.

Expected to grace the epoch-making sporting event are top government functionaries, sports administrators, captains of industries, academics, religious and community leaders with lots of side attractions.
