The three-member delegation of the Hungarian Olympic Committee travelled on a business trip to Teheran to conduct talks with the leadership of the Iranian NOC and the Minister for Youth and Sport of Iran, and visited the Olympic Academy and Museum, too. An extensive MoU covering 11 sports has also been signed by the two
parties.
The Hungarian delegation comprised Hungarian Olympic Committee President and two-time Olympic silver medallist épée fencer Mr. Krisztián Kulcsár, Secretary-General Mr. Bálint Vékássy and Hungarian Water Polo Association President and two-time Olympic Champion Mr. Attila Vári.
“We had talks with the President of the National Olympic Committee of the Islamic Republic of Iran Mr Reza Salehi Amiri, a respected professor, ex-Minister for Culture and Youth and Sport, and Secretary-General Mr Keykavous Saeidi. Then the two parties signed a Memorandum of Understanding aimed at strengthening cooperation, organizing training camps, and the exchange of knowledge in various sports, including table tennis,
wrestling, handball, canoe sprint, rowing, sailing, swimming, water polo, basketball, cycling, and volleyball” said Hungarian NOC Secretary-General Mr. Bálint Vékássy
Following the fruitful negotiations, a visit to the Olympic Academy and Olympic Museum of the Islamic Republic of Iran was also organized
