The House of Representatives member representing Ijebu-North/Ijebu East/Ogun Waterside Federal Constituency at the Green Chamber of the National Assembly, Abuja, Rt. Hon. Adekoya Adesegun AbdelMajid has paid a glowing tribute to his mentor, leader, and astute administrator, Asiwaju Jubril Martins Kuye who joined his ancestor on Sunday 17th January 2021 at the age of 78.
According to the condolence message on his Facebook page where he described the passing away of Chief Martins Kuye, a foremost humanist, an astute public administrator, an iconic politician, political leader, a successful entrepreneur, a traditional leader, and a builder per excellence as a rude shock to Nigerians particularly the people of Ago-Iwoye”.

He stressed further. “Asiwaju was a father, leader, a role model, and an iconic figure whose entire life was dedicated to building the generation next. He gave his all in the field of politics. He was a founding father of our great party, the People’s Democratic Party. He was at one time or another a member of the defunct Social Democratic Party, SDP, and the UNCP. As a Senator in the Third Republic, he distinguished himself exceedingly.
“Asiwaju Jubril Martins Kuye has left a huge void in our political firmament. Our consolation is in the fact that Otunba Fesojoye of Ijebu Land was fond of saying, *”there is no success until you have a successor”* and indeed he has many enviable successors in all areas of life”.

“As a Federal Minister, he was the man Allah used to take me to Abuja when I served as his Personal Assistant. His mastery of his official responsibilities and delivery of his services cannot be underestimated. He was an outstanding Economist having attended the Harvard University Business School in 1983. His learning experiences were felt in the way he conducted his official duties as a two-time Federal Minister; a feat yet to be matched by anyone from our Senatorial district”. he stated
“We shall continue to console ourselves with the fact that you have lived a fulfilled life as many of us, your mentees, are doing well in public service, their chosen careers, and other positions we occupy today. We shall miss your calm disposition, astuteness, candor, brilliant and intelligent contributions to issues”.

The Deputy Minority Whip of the House of Representatives and the Aremo Ebumawe of Ago-Iwoye, however, prayed to Almighty Allah to grant the repose soul of the Are Musulumi of Ogun State easy, unhindered, and seamless passage to heaven while we wish the Jubril Martins Kuye Dynasty the fortitude to bear the loss.
