The Executive Chairman of Somolu Local Government, Hon. Abdul Hamed Salawu has heaped stupendous praise on the outstanding breeds of Angus Memorial Senior School, Jemimah Marcus, and Lateef Oluwatimilehin Zainab for their academic excellence.
Following the conclusion of the Lagos State Government 14th Merit Award Ceremony 2019, Lateef Oluwarotimi was acknowledged with the ‘Outstanding Achievement Award for Best Students in WASSCE-Overall in 2018/2019 under Education District ll.
Meanwhile, the 16year old quick-witted winner of the 2019 Somolu Spelling Bee Competition, Jemimah gained ascendancy over other contestants to win the grand finale of the Lagos State Spelling Bee Competition with the sum of N250,000 cash prize, as held at the Adeyemi Bero Auditorium, Alausa Secretariat.
The multiple award-winning Chairman, while reacting happily to the top-drawer performances of the conquering heroes, which exemplified Somolu as a dignified community with gifted youths gradually mounting the leadership seats.
He proclaimed them as vibrant and reputable ambassadors from Somolu schools who have helped themselves and the community acquire another significant prestige in Lagos, the roaring success he encourages other students to emulate with their competencies.
Similarly, he extolled the consistent efforts of the School Administrators, Staffs and their respective parents for grooming the students through a series of preparations which eventually turned into a mouth-watering achievement for all and sundry.
By Lagos tradition, Jemimah Marcus would be honored as One-day Lagos State Governor in recognition of her exquisite brilliance.
