The Executive Chairman of Somolu Local Government, Hon. Abdul Hamed Salawu has led the campaign against reoccurrence cases of rape in Nigeria recently. The Mayor was joined in the campaign by the Chairperson of Somolu Local Government, the overall leader of women in the community, Mrs Mariam Omotanwa Salawu.
Immediate past Executive Chairman of Somolu Local Government, Hon. Gbolahan Bagostowe, Pastor Femi Taiwo (Somolu APC Chairman), Veteran Broadcaster, Obafemi Craig, also joined the campaign voice with the Mayor of Somolu.
According to the Mayor of Somolu, rape is an evil act that should be condemned by all. Displaying cards with inscriptions like ‘Love, Don’t Rape’, ‘Rape = Barbaric’, ‘Adore Girls’, the council helmsman said fighting against rape should a campaign all Nigerians should be involved in.
