Over 500 individuals and vulnerable families in needs across Ikorodu Federal Constituency were as usual on Saturday benefited from the March 2020 edition of iCARE Foodbank programme, an initiative of iCare Foundation of Hon. Babajimi Adekoge Benson, Member, House of Representatives.

iCARE Foodbank, a nonprofit charitable organization that buys food and grocery products and redistributes the items in a bag called ‘APO AANU or ‘MERCY BAG’ to less-privileges.

While addressing the beneficiaries, the Igbogbo/Bayeku LCDA Coordinator of iCARE Foundation, Alhaji W.A Yusuf, welcomed all and prayed for financial breakthrough in the life of the beneficiaries. “I pray you will all be in a position to cater for someone else in the coming future”, he said.

The initiator and sponsor of iCARE Foodbank, Hon. Babajimi Benson, said in his remarks that the initiative was designed to prevent his constituents, particularly the aged ones from going to bed without food. “What we are doing is to support our people and enable them to feed themselves for a while,” JB, as he’s fondly called said.

Shortly after his pleasant remarks, the distribution of the food items began with smiles of relief on the faces of the beneficiaries.
